Future Lab: Women Develop Visions for the Konrad District

How can community life in the Konrad district be strengthened in the future? This question was the focus of a creative workshop at the neighborhood meeting place. A group of women with migration experience developed joint ideas for living together in solidarity. Neighbourhood manager Brigitte Turinsky invited the group, and the Bavarian Foresight Institute of the THI organized the meeting. Dr. Gerhard Schönhofer was responsible for the content.

In a relaxed atmosphere, topics such as neighbourly engagement, intercultural exchange, and intergenerational activities were discussed—from joint cooking evenings to an open bicycle workshop or projects on the district's history. Personal experiences, such as childcare or waste separation, ensured a lively dialogue.

At the end, a colorful collage was created that visually summarizes central ideas and wishes for the future of the district. Together with the results of other events, it will be incorporated into so-called experience spaces. These will make tangible what life in the region could look like tomorrow, supported by THI students who are working on future-oriented design.

The workshop was part of the Mensch in Bewegung project, which aims to promote future competence in Region 10 and strengthen the exchange between science and society.
